Derrick Buisch - Artificial Horizon

18. April 2008 - 30. April 2008

Derrick Buisch is an American painter, art professor, curator, art-project manager and musician. He is also an internationally exhibited artist that takes inspiration from the everyday- like signage, graffiti, tattoos, graphic design from old LPs, comics, and an eclectic range of printed matter. His extensive experience in the independent music scene – particularly with Washington, D.C. hard-core 20 years ago, shaped his proactive approach to art making and his incessant commitment to promoting communal art projects.

Recently his works have employed bright industrial colors combined with fragmented letterforms and abstract symbols. These works are intended to be evocative, elusive, and visually resonant.
